@J242, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how important it is to get your HP LaserJet M140we connected to Wi-Fi, especially when you have urgent documents to print. Let’s walk through some steps to resolve the "Invalid Password" issue you're encountering.
Double-Check Wi-Fi Password
- Ensure you're entering the exact Wi-Fi password, including correct capitalization and special characters.
- Try connecting another device (like a phone or laptop) to the same Wi-Fi using the same password to confirm it works.
Reset the Printer’s Network Settings
This clears any saved Wi-Fi credentials and lets you start fresh:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Attention light blinks.
- The printer will restart and reset its network settings.
Reconnect Using HP Smart App
Use the HP Smart app to set up the printer again:
- Download or open the HP Smart app on your phone:
HP Smart - Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.
- Open the app and tap “+” to add a new printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.
Use WPS (If Supported by Your Router)
If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
- The printer should automatically connect to the Wi-Fi.
Check for Firmware Updates
Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve connectivity issues:
- In the HP Smart app, go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Printer Updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
