Hi @47DJD,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Inspire 7900e is not printing wirelessly and the printer screen says "Finish Printer Setup," it indicates that there might be an issue with the initial setup or configuration. Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve this:

1. Complete the Printer Setup

If your printer setup isn’t complete:

On the Printer Screen: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process. This usually involves connecting to your Wi-Fi network and configuring basic settings.

Using HP Smart App:

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  2. If your printer is not already added, follow the prompts to add it. The app should guide you through the setup process, including connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

2. Verify Network Connection

Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • On the Printer: Go to the wireless settings on your printer’s control panel to ensure it’s connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Check Network Status:
    1. Print a Network Configuration Page or Wireless Test Report from the printer’s control panel to confirm that it is connected to the network.
    2. Ensure that your computer or mobile device is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.

3. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

If the printer was previously connected but is no longer working, you may need to reconnect it:

  • From the Printer Control Panel:
    1. Go to the Wi-Fi setup menu on your printer.
    2. Select your network from the list of available networks and enter the password if prompted.
  • Using HP Smart App:
    1. Open the HP Smart app.
    2. Select your printer and go to “Printer Setup” or “Settings.”
    3. Follow the instructions to reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.

4. Update Printer Firmware

Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date:

  • Using HP Smart App:
    1. Open the HP Smart app.
    2. Select your printer and go to “Printer Maintenance” or “Advanced Settings.”
    3. Check for firmware updates and install any available updates.

5. Check for Printer Driver Issues

Ensure that you have the correct printer driver installed on your computer:

  • Reinstall Printer Drivers:
    1. Go to the HP Support website.
    2. Search for your printer model and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
    3. Install the drivers and follow the setup instructions.

6. Restart Devices

Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues:

Restart Your Printer:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Restart Your Router:

  1. Unplug your router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

Restart Your Computer or Mobile Device:

  1. Restart your computer or mobile device to refresh network connections.

7. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

If you’re still having issues:

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor:
    1. Go to the HP Print and Scan Doctor page.
    2. Download and run the tool, which can diagnose and fix common printing and scanning issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
