Just switched from AT&T internet to Xfinity. Having trouble connecting my wireless printer to the new network. Documentation from Xfinity, no matter where I'm reading it, is conflicting, and mentions Connect, which was officially end-of-lifed last year as far as I can tell. I've changed the Xfinity router protocol to WPA2, as suggested by someone, but I still can't connect. How do I get my Xfinity router to accept a connection from my printer when I'm using the correct connection password??? What else does it want? And, when I look at the logs on the new router, there is no indication that it even received the request. Do I need a new printer with more modern protocols or what?

Hi @bluesdiva2001,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that you're facing connectivity issues with your HP Envy All-in-One printer since the Xfinity app no longer has Connect. Not to worry, there are alternative ways to connect your printer to the router. Follow these general steps to get your printer connected.
Wi-Fi Direct or WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).
- Many modern printers, including HP Envy models, support Wi-Fi Direct, which allows you to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network without the need for a router. Check your printer's manual or settings to see if it supports Wi-Fi Direct or WPS.
- If your printer has Wi-Fi Direct or WPS, you can usually set it up by pressing the WPS button on your router (if available) and then activating the Wi-Fi Direct or WPS mode on the printer within a specific timeframe. This will establish a connection without requiring a password.
Printer Display Setup.
- Some printers, like the HP Envy All-in-One, come with a touch screen display that allows you to connect to Wi-Fi directly through the printer's settings.
- Access the printer's settings menu on the display and look for the Wi-Fi or Network options. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
HP Smart App.
- HP provides the "HP Smart" app, which allows you to set up and manage your HP printer wirelessly. Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or tablet from the respective app store (iOS or Android).
- Follow the app's instructions to set up your printer. It will guide you through connecting your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
USB Connection and Software Setup.
- If you're unable to set up a wireless connection, you can still use a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer and install the necessary drivers and software.
- Visit the official HP website (https://support.hp.com/) and search for your printer model to download the latest drivers and software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers and connect your printer to your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
