Hi @BGINNANE,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Wireless connectivity issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 printer can be frustrating, especially after years of seamless operation. Let’s go step by step to troubleshoot.

Restart Devices

Sometimes, restarting the devices helps clear temporary glitches.

  • Turn off the printer, router, and laptop.
  • Wait for about 2 minutes and turn them back on.

Printer Wireless Reset

Reset the printer's wireless settings to default:

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
  • This resets the printer's wireless settings.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi

Use the Wireless Setup Wizard:

  1. Go to the printer’s control panel.
  2. Navigate to Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  3. Follow the instructions to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
    Ensure the following:
    • You are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5GHz).
    • Your network password is entered correctly.

Ensure Printer is on the Same Network as Your Laptop

  • Check the printer’s network report to verify it is connected to the correct network. You can print the Wireless Network Test Report from the printer’s control panel.
  • On your laptop, ensure it’s connected to the same network.

Update Printer Firmware

If you haven’t updated the printer firmware recently:

  1. Connect the printer via USB temporarily to your laptop.
  2. Download and install firmware updates from the HP Support website.

Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Download and install the HP Smart app or the full driver package for the HP 8210 from the HP website.
  • Remove the printer from your laptop’s device list and reinstall it.

Router Settings

Check for any issues with your router:

  • Ensure MAC filtering is disabled (if enabled, add the printer's MAC address to the allowed list).
  • Reduce wireless interference by moving the printer closer to the router.

Assign a Static IP

Sometimes, assigning a static IP address can stabilize the connection:

  1. Access your router’s admin panel (check the router manual for the address, e.g., 192.168.1.1).
  2. Assign a static IP to the printer.
  3. Enter this IP in the HP Smart app or driver settings on your laptop.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

HP provides a diagnostic tool to identify and fix connectivity issues:

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  2. Run it on your laptop while the printer is powered on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
