A constantly flashing blue WiFi light on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 usually indicates that the printer is trying to connect to the network but cannot establish a stable connection. Here are some troubleshooting steps to try.

 

Restart the Network and Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug your router and modem for about a minute.
  • Plug the router and modem back in, allowing them to fully reconnect.
  • Once your network is back online, turn on the printer and wait to see if the blue light stops flashing.

Re-establish WiFi Connection:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the steps to reconnect your printer to your WiFi network.
  • Ensure that you enter the correct WiFi password.

Move Printer Closer to Router:

  • If possible, move the printer closer to your router to improve signal strength and rule out any connectivity issues caused by distance or obstacles.

Check for Firmware Update:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Go to HP’s Support page and search for your printer model to find any available updates.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Network or Wireless settings and select Restore Network Defaults.
  • After resetting, reconnect the printer to your WiFi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Router Settings:

  • Ensure your router’s settings allow new devices to connect, and check that it's broadcasting at a compatible frequency (2.4 GHz is usually more stable for older printer models).
