Hi @jeffEllis,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2852e All-in-One Printer is having issues connecting to Wi-Fi and you can't find the printer in Wi-Fi settings for printing without Wi-Fi, here are some steps you can take.

Check the Printer’s Network Connection:

  • Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check Wi-Fi Light: Ensure the Wi-Fi light on your printer is blinking. If not, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until it starts blinking.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

Using HP Smart App:

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer.
  2. Open the app and click on “Add Printer.”
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure your device is on the same Wi-Fi network.

Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):

  1. Press the WPS button on your router.
  2. Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until the wireless light blinks. The light should become steady when connected.

Print Without Wi-Fi (Using Wi-Fi Direct):

  • Enable Wi-Fi Direct:
    1. On your printer, press the Information button to print a network configuration page.
    2. Find the Wi-Fi Direct section to ensure it’s enabled. If not, press and hold the Wi-Fi Direct button on your printer until it turns on.
  • Connect to Printer via Wi-Fi Direct:
    1. On your device (phone, tablet, or computer), go to Wi-Fi settings.
    2. Look for a network that starts with “HP-Setup-” followed by your printer model.
    3. Connect to this network using the password printed on the information sheet or the printer’s screen.
    4. Once connected, you can print directly from your device.

Reset Network Settings (if needed):

  • Reset Printer’s Network Settings:
    1. Press and hold the Cancel button (X) and the Wireless button on the printer until the power light blinks.
    2. This will reset the network settings, and you can attempt to reconnect to Wi-Fi again.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date by checking for updates through the HP Smart app or HP’s official website.

Troubleshoot Network Issues:

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working properly and not experiencing any outages.
  • Make sure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
