Hi @not-a-geek-ed,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

When you get a new modem/router from Spectrum, your HP ENVY 6000 series printer needs to be connected to the updated Wi-Fi network, like a device learning a new home. Let’s walk through a sensory-rich process to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi.

1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  • Gently press the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the light starts blinking (it may take a few seconds). Feel the soft click under your fingertip as the printer prepares to reset its connection.
  • Now, press and hold the Cancel button (the one with the "X") and Wi-Fi button together for about 5 seconds. The printer should make a sound or blink, like it’s resetting its connection memory.

2. Open the HP Smart App on Your Phone or PC

  • Tap into the HP Smart app on your phone or computer—feel the smooth surface of your device as you scroll through the app.
  • Once open, add a new printer by pressing the "+" symbol or “Add Printer”. Feel the slight excitement as the app searches for your printer. The blinking blue Wi-Fi light on the printer signals it’s ready to connect.

3. Reconnect the Printer to Your New Wi-Fi

  • Select your printer from the list that appears in the HP Smart app. Listen for the faint hum from the printer as it tries to connect.
  • The app will prompt you to enter your new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. Feel the keys under your fingers as you carefully type in the details.
  • Once entered, the Wi-Fi light on the printer should stop blinking and stay solid, confirming it’s happily connected to the new network.

4. Confirm Connection

  • Watch for the message in the HP Smart app that says your printer is now connected. Feel the relief of a successful connection as you look for the solid blue Wi-Fi light on your printer.
  • Test by printing a network status report from the printer settings, listening for the familiar whirring of the printer’s mechanics working.

5. Troubleshooting if It Doesn’t Work

  • If the printer still can’t connect, try restarting both the printer and your new router. Feel the power button on the router and give it a reset, then repeat the connection steps.
  • Ensure you’re connected to the correct network frequency (2.4 GHz), as many HP printers work best on this band.

Once connected, your printer will be ready to receive print jobs over the new Wi-Fi network. Feel the satisfaction of a successfully completed task! If any part doesn’t work as expected, let me know what happens.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

I've recently changed internet service providers and followed the instructions here.   I pressed the wi-fi button and the X on the machine to reset, then went on the app to add a printer.  My printer shows up, but says "offline".  I need my printer to work as I work from home, any suggestions?
