Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I changed internet providers recently,  and now my HP is saying my printer is not found/lost connectivity. I have tried ALL the tips and 'solutions' on the HP app and on the HP website to no avail.

The thing is, my computer (Mac) IS showing the printer (with a new name after the change of internet providers) and I can directly print by connecting to that, BUT I need to get the printer connected to my HP InstantInk account.

Any ideas? (Apart from the usual things that HP suggest, which I have tried again and again).

Thank you, but this isn't relevant to my printer — as it does not have a touchscreen. Plus, I had tried and exhausted all options similar to this, but for printers without a touchscreen. In the end, I have just a few hours ago, managed to re-install HP Easy Start, which I'd forgotten about and hey presto, it worked (unlike the HP app, which was useless)!

Hi @doobydools,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how frustrating it is when your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e printer works fine locally but won’t reconnect to HP Instant Ink after switching internet providers, even after trying all the usual steps. You’re not alone in this, and I’ll guide you through a more advanced fix that goes beyond the basics.

Advanced Steps to Reconnect to HP Instant Ink

1. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode

This resets the printer’s network settings and allows HP Smart to reconfigure it.

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the back of the printer for 5 seconds
  • The display will show a prompt, and the Wi-Fi light will blink blue
  • You now have 2 hours to complete setup via HP Smart

2. Re-enable Web Services

Web Services are required for Instant Ink to work.

  • On the printer’s touchscreen:
    • Go to Settings > Web Services
    • If Web Services are off, turn them on
    • If they’re on but not working, turn them off, wait 30 seconds, then turn them back on

3. Reconnect via HP App

  • Open the HP App on your Mac
  • Remove the printer from the app
  • Re-add it using the HP-Setup network
  • Follow the prompts to reconnect to Wi-Fi and enable Web Services

4. Check Network Compatibility

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the 2.4 GHz band of your router (most HP printers don’t support 5 GHz)
  • Ensure your router supports Bonjour (important for Mac discovery)
  • Avoid guest networks or VPNs

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @doobydools,

Thank you so much for the update, and I’m really glad to hear you were able to get your printer working again using HP Easy Start! That’s excellent news.

You’re absolutely right, HP Easy Start is often the best tool for printers without a touchscreen, as it automatically detects your printer model, installs the correct drivers, and configures the connection properly. I also appreciate you pointing out that the HP Smart App didn’t help in your case. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll make sure it’s shared with the relevant team to improve the experience for future users.

It’s great to know you’ve got everything back up and running now. If you ever need assistance with updates, print quality, or network setup in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always happy to help.

I hope this helps.
