Hi @Pez714 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 4655 was offline due to a Wi-Fi change, and you've already ensured that it's back online, but your computer and other devices still can't find the printer, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Make sure that your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Verify that the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are correctly entered on the printer.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, computer, and any other devices connected to the network.
- Power them back on, starting with the modem/router, then the printer, and finally your computer.
Printer Status:
- On the printer's control panel, check for any error messages or issues.
- Ensure that the printer is in a ready state and not displaying any error lights.
HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the official HP website. This tool can diagnose and resolve common printing problems.
Reinstall Printer Driver:
- Uninstall the existing printer driver on your computer.
- Visit the HP official website, download the latest driver for your printer model, and reinstall it.
Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings:
- Sometimes, firewall or antivirus settings can block communication between the computer and the printer. Temporarily disable them to check if they are the cause of the issue.
Printer IP Address:
- Obtain the printer's IP address from its control panel or a network configuration page.
- Ensure that the IP address on the printer matches the one assigned by your router. Manually set a static IP address if needed.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Run the built-in Windows Troubleshooter for printers. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters > Printer.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there are firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating firmware can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
Router Settings:
- Check your router settings to ensure that it is not blocking communication with the printer. Some routers have features that can interfere with device connectivity.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Ensure that there are no conflicting software or applications on your computer that might be preventing the printer from being detected.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
