HP Laser Jet Pro MFP M29w Printer, I changed the router and my printer does not recognize it.
How can I download and install a driver so the printer would work?
Before installing the new driver do I need to delete the old one?
Thanks

Hi @walt12341,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29w printer to a new router or Wi-Fi network and ensure it functions properly, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the Printer from the Old Network
Turn on Printer:
- Make sure your printer is powered on.
Access Wireless Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wireless or Network menu. This is usually accessed by pressing the wireless icon or going through the settings menu.
Forget Old Network:
- Select the option to disconnect or forget the old Wi-Fi network. This will remove the previous network settings.
2. Connect the Printer to the New Network
Initiate Wireless Setup:
- On the printer's control panel, go to the Wireless menu and select Wireless Setup Wizard or a similar option.
Select New Network:
- The printer will search for available networks. Choose your new Wi-Fi network from the list.
Enter Network Password:
- Input the Wi-Fi password for your new network when prompted. Ensure that you enter it correctly to establish a connection.
Confirm Connection:
- Once connected, the printer should confirm the new network settings. You can print a network configuration page if needed to verify the connection.
3. Download and Install the Printer Driver
Visit HP Support Website:
- Go to the HP Support website.
Find Your Printer Model:
- Enter “HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29w” in the search bar and select your printer model from the search results.
Select Your Operating System:
- Choose your operating system from the list to ensure you download the correct driver version.
Download the Driver:
- Download the latest driver and software package available for your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
