I got the computer to connect to the printer via the printer's wifi, but I need to scan a document and that requires an internet connection.
If I connect to my internet, the printer disconnects as I can't connect to 2 wifis at the same time.
Any idea how to get around this?
thanks!

Hi,
How is the blue wireless light? is it solid, off or blinking?
If you have a wireless network you should connect the printer to your home wi-fi rather than connecting to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network, this is meant to be used when there is no local network available....
Press and hold both the Wireless and Cancel buttons for 3 seconds, the power button should blink for a moment, then restart the printer.
Now make sure your Mac is connected to your home network and open HP Smart, click the plus sign and follow the steps to Set Up the printer on your wireless network:

Then you should be able to print and scan over your home network, without any need to switch networks..

Hi ShlomiL,
Thanks for your reply.
The wireless light is blinking when I try to do it, but the setup tells me that I need a usb to set it up. It's a Deskjet2623 with no touchscreen.
I bought the printer second hand and the lady told me they set it up without usb but can't remember how..
Thanks again
