Hi @Homestead1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reconnect your printer to the internet after changing your internet provider, follow these steps. The process generally involves reconnecting your printer to your new Wi-Fi network. Here’s how to do it:

1. Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Network

Using the Printer’s Control Panel

Turn on Your Printer:

  • Make sure your printer is powered on and ready.

Access Wireless Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wireless or Network settings. This might be represented by an icon of a signal or wireless symbol.

Select Wi-Fi Setup:

  • Choose Wireless Setup Wizard or a similar option to search for available networks.

Select Your Network:

  • From the list of available networks, select your new Wi-Fi network (SSID).

Enter Wi-Fi Password:

  • Enter the password for your new Wi-Fi network. Make sure you enter it correctly, as passwords are case-sensitive.

Confirm and Connect:

  • Confirm the settings and allow the printer to connect. The printer should display a message indicating that it’s connected to the network.

Using the HP Smart App

Open HP Smart App:

  • Download and open the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone. If you don't have it, you can get it from the HP Smart website.

Add Your Printer:

  • Click on Add Printer or + and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to a new Wi-Fi network.

Follow Prompts:

  • The app will guide you through the steps to connect your printer to your new network. You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password.

Confirm Connection:

  • Once connected, the app will confirm that your printer is now on the network.

2. Update Printer Configuration

For Windows 10/11

Open Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.

Add Printer:

  • Click on Add a printer or scanner. Windows will search for printers on the network.

Select Your Printer:

  • Select your printer from the list. If it appears as Offline, try clicking Manage and then Set as default.

Test Printing:

  • Print a test page to ensure the connection is working.

For macOS

Open System Preferences:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Add Printer:

  • Click on the + button to add a printer. Your printer should appear in the list.

Select Your Printer:

  • Choose your printer and click Add.

Test Printing:

  • Print a test page to verify that the printer is connected.

3. Check Printer Status

Confirm Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network by printing a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates for your printer on the HP Support website and update if necessary.

4. Restart Devices

  1. Power Cycle:
    • Turn off your printer, router, and computer. Wait for 30 seconds, then turn them back on. This can help reset network connections.

5. Verify Router Settings

  1. Router Configuration:
    • Ensure your router is properly configured and broadcasting the new network. Check if any security settings or firewall rules might be blocking the printer’s connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
