i have trouble setting up my printer. apparently, my printer is connected to the wifi but not the internet. whenever i try to set up the printer using the app on my phone, it doesn’t work. there is always an error in connecting my phone to the printer. when i try to use my laptop, it doesn’t connect to my printer either. when i use the ip address to connect, it keeps giving me the message that the printer needs to be on, but my printer is already on. when i try to print something, it doesn’t work because there’s an error in the set up even though the printer is already connected to the wifi. I have also tried turning on and off the printer several times, including unplugging the wire, but nothing workds.

Hi @099234
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Request you try below steps:
Uninstall the HP smart app from your devices.
Note: If there are additional printers listed on the HP smart app, they will be deleted)
Restore network settings to default settings - Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel together for 5 seconds and release it. This would erase the old network from the printer and would put the printer in setup mode.
Post that, re-download the HP smart app on your phone, open the app, and click on add printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer connected to the network.
Once successfully connected, the wireless light would turn solid blue.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
