@jim818, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is showing as offline and won’t print, here are some steps to help bring it back online:

Restart Devices

  • Turn off your printer.
  • Shut down your computer.
  • Unplug your router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Power everything back on and check if the printer comes online.

Check Printer Connection

  • For Wi-Fi printers: Make sure the printer is connected to the correct wireless network.
    • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your Wi-Fi.
  • For USB printers: Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.

Set Printer as Default

  • On Windows:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click your printer and select Set as default printer.
    • If you see multiple entries for the same printer, remove duplicates.

Clear Print Queue

  • Right-click your printer > See what’s printing > Cancel all documents.

Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP support site: Official HP® Support
  • Enter your printer model and reinstall the latest drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
