@jim818, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is showing as offline and won’t print, here are some steps to help bring it back online:
Restart Devices
- Turn off your printer.
- Shut down your computer.
- Unplug your router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Power everything back on and check if the printer comes online.
Check Printer Connection
- For Wi-Fi printers: Make sure the printer is connected to the correct wireless network.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your Wi-Fi.
- For USB printers: Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
Set Printer as Default
- On Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select Set as default printer.
- If you see multiple entries for the same printer, remove duplicates.
Clear Print Queue
- Right-click your printer > See what’s printing > Cancel all documents.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Visit the HP support site: Official HP® Support
- Enter your printer model and reinstall the latest drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
