Hi, internet provider screwed up my service and we had to reset the modem password. that in turn screwed up my printer. scan doctor recognizes the new password, but the printer is stuck on the old wi-fi password and i cannot find where to change it and I cannot get a live person at HP. Anyone know how to do this? Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi @Picosa2U,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To change the Wi-Fi password on your HP printer (Picosa2U model), follow these general steps. The exact steps might vary slightly depending on your printer model, but this should give you a good starting point:

Access the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Find the IP address of your printer. This can usually be done by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel or by checking your router's connected devices list.
  • Open a web browser on your computer (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. Press Enter.
  • This should bring up the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) interface.

Log into the EWS:

  • In the EWS interface, navigate to the Network or Wireless settings section.
  • You may be prompted to log in. Use the default username and password (if prompted). This information is often found in the printer's manual or on the printer itself.
  • Once logged in, you should see options related to your printer's network settings.

Change Wi-Fi Settings:

  • Look for an option to change the wireless network settings or Wi-Fi password.
  • Enter the new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password that matches your updated modem settings.
  • Save or Apply the changes.

Update Printer Settings:

  • After changing the Wi-Fi settings in the EWS, your printer will disconnect from the old Wi-Fi network and attempt to connect to the new one using the updated credentials.
  • It may take a minute or two for the printer to reconnect to the new network.

Reconnect Devices:

  • Once your printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network, you may need to update the printer settings on any computers or devices that use the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
