Hi @MustangSally14,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Turn On the Printer:
- Ensure your HP Deskjet 3000 printer is powered on.
Enable Wireless Mode:
- On the printer control panel, locate the Wireless button.
- Press the Wireless button. The wireless light should start blinking, indicating that the printer is searching for available networks.
Connect to a Wireless Network Using HP Printer Software:
- On your Dell laptop, make sure you are connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Visit the HP Support webpage to download the latest version of the HP Printer Software or HP Smart app compatible with Windows 11.
- Install the HP Printer Software. During the installation process, select the option to configure the printer for a wireless connection.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your wireless network. You might need to enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
Verify Connection:
- Once connected, the wireless light on your printer should stay solid to indicate that it is successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Add Printer to Windows 11:
- On your Dell laptop, open the Settings app by pressing Windows + I.
- Navigate to Devices and then Printers & scanners.
- Click on Add a printer or scanner.
- Windows will search for available printers. Select your HP Deskjet 3000 from the list and follow the prompts to complete the addition.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure Proper Network Settings: Make sure your router is broadcasting the 2.4 GHz band. Many printers do not support the 5 GHz band.
- Restart Devices: If you encounter any issues, try restarting your printer, router, and laptop.
- Firewall and Security: Check if your firewall or antivirus software on the laptop is not blocking the printer connection.
By following these steps, you should be able to turn on the wireless functionality on your HP Deskjet 3000 printer and connect it to your Dell laptop running Windows 11 successfully.
I hope this helps.
