HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer
Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks

New lack of network connectivity on both. prt'g from my cpu's files are ok on both printers. 4//8/23 2 hours plus trying to solve Connectivity issue. I've pinged and restarted and re set up no GO

OS 10.9.5 iMac

Both prts are not printing  pages from browser searches. The ink jet Pro 6978 prints  via wireless, only for files saved on my hard drive. The laser printer Hp 1200 prints those files too. Currently Neither printer prints from the internet!

This is a sudden development. I can't think of any corrolation/change that might have caused this lack of network printing.

Hi @Khemanandi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer is not printing via the network, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check the network connection: Make sure that your printer is properly connected to your network. Check if the Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection is active and if the network signal is strong enough.
  • Restart the printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it on again. This will refresh the printer's memory and network settings.
  • Check the printer settings: Ensure that the printer is set to use the correct network settings. You can check this by going to the printer's control panel and selecting the network settings.
  • Restart the router: Restarting the router can sometimes help to resolve connectivity issues between the printer and the network.
  • Update printer firmware: Make sure your printer firmware is up-to-date. Check the HP support website for the latest firmware update for your printer model.
  • Reinstall printer drivers: Sometimes, the printer driver may become corrupted, preventing the printer from connecting to the network. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
