HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer

When I try to use my printer, I get  a message that the printer is not connected to a network. I contacted my internet provider and they said that nothing was wrong on their end. Can you please help resolve this issue please?

Hi @roe6871

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2755e is showing that it's not connected to a network despite being connected to your router, and you've already verified with your internet provider that everything is fine on their end, here are several steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check the Printer's Wi-Fi Connection

The first step is to ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Check the Printer’s Wi-Fi Status

  • Print a Network Configuration Page:
    1. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer for about 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.
    2. Then, press the Information button (usually a small "i" symbol).
    3. This will print a network configuration report, which shows the current Wi-Fi settings and the printer’s connection status.

Verify the Wi-Fi Connection

  • Check the SSID (network name) listed on the printed page. It should match the name of your router’s Wi-Fi.
  • If it doesn’t match, or if it shows as disconnected, you’ll need to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi.

2. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

If your printer isn't connected to the network, you can reconnect it using one of the following methods:

Use the Printer’s Control Panel (For Wi-Fi Direct Setup)

On the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • Press the Wi-Fi button on your printer.
  • Wait for the Wi-Fi light to blink rapidly (indicating it’s in Wi-Fi setup mode).

Use the HP Smart App (Recommended for Easy Setup):

  • Download and install the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store or Apple App Store on your smartphone or computer.
  • Open the app and follow the steps to add your HP DeskJet 2755e.
  • The app should guide you through the process of selecting your Wi-Fi network and entering the password.

Connect via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) - If your router supports this:

  • Press and hold the WPS button on your router for 5-10 seconds.
  • Then, within 2 minutes, press the Wi-Fi button on the printer.
  • The printer should automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network via WPS.

3. Check the Printer’s IP Address

Sometimes the printer might be disconnected from the network due to an IP address conflict or a change in the network configuration.

  • Check the IP address on the Network Configuration Page printed earlier.
  • If the IP address is not valid or the printer is showing a different network, reconnect it to the correct network.

You can manually assign a new IP address to the printer via the printer settings (often accessible via the control panel of the printer or web interface).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
