@borky, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand you are not able to print from your computer. If you are able to print a test page, it means the printer hardware is working fine.
Check the connectivity between the devices. Connect the USB cable directly between the devices.
It could be a driver issue. However, due to its age, there are no drivers available for this printer.
You may try to install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know how. Try printing. Use Deskjet 990c driver if your printer is not listed.
Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help.
If this does not help, and the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
