Hi @PapaCoug,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to setup a printer with a new modem, your HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 might need some network settings updated. Here are some steps to help get it reconnected:

Check Wi-Fi Network Settings: Ensure the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are correct. Sometimes, new modems have different default settings.

Printer Network Reset:

  • On your printer's touchscreen, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Settings. This will clear any old network info.
  • After the reset, reconnect the printer to the network:
    • Go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the prompts to select your network and enter the password.

Router Settings:

  • Ensure the Xfinity router is set to a 2.4 GHz network, as many HP printers don’t support 5 GHz connections.
  • If you have dual-band Wi-Fi, temporarily separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks by giving them different SSIDs in your router settings. Then, connect your printer to the 2.4 GHz network.

Reboot Devices:

  • Power off your printer, computer, and modem/router.
  • Wait for about 1 minute, then turn on the modem/router and wait for it to fully boot.
  • Turn on the printer and computer, and then attempt to reconnect.

Reinstall Printer Software (optional): If the connection still doesn’t work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP printer software on your computer. Make sure to use the latest version of the HP Smart app or the HP Easy Start software for a fresh setup.

Let me know if this helps, or if the printer displays any specific error messages.
