Hi @larry2894,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP DeskJet 2721 printer is not connecting to WiFi, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Check WiFi Network

  • Ensure your WiFi network is working properly. Check if other devices can connect to the WiFi network without issues.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer, router, and the device from which you are trying to print. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

3. Printer and Network Settings

  • Make sure your printer is within range of your WiFi router.
  • Ensure that your printer is not too close to other electronic devices that could cause interference.

4. Reconnect Printer to WiFi

Reset Wireless Settings on Printer:

  1. Turn on your printer.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons until the Power button starts flashing.
  3. The wireless light should start blinking, indicating that the wireless settings are reset.

Use HP Smart App:

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
  2. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your printer and connect it to your WiFi network.

5. Manual Wireless Setup

Using the Printer Control Panel:

  • Press the Wireless button on the printer to access the wireless settings.
  • Use the control panel to navigate to the WiFi setup wizard.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to select your WiFi network and enter the password.

Using WPS (WiFi Protected Setup):

  • Press the WPS button on your router.
  • Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until the wireless light starts blinking.
  • The printer should automatically connect to your WiFi network.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website.

7. Printer Network Configuration Page

  • Print a network configuration page to check the printer’s network status:
    1. Press the Information button (i) on the printer to print a configuration page.
    2. Check the page for connectivity details and troubleshoot based on the information provided.

8. Check Router Settings

  • Ensure that your router is not blocking the printer's MAC address.
  • Verify that your router's firmware is up-to-date.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
