Hi @sasha1951,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your new HP printer won’t print and HP support isn’t accepting the serial number, you might try the following troubleshooting steps.
Check Connections:
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it’s a wired connection, verify that the cable is securely plugged in. For wireless connections, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Printer Status:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and has paper and ink or toner. Sometimes the issue can be as simple as running out of paper or ink.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your printer, computer, and router (if using a network printer). This can often resolve temporary connectivity issues.
Check for Errors:
- Look at the printer’s display (if it has one) for any error messages or warnings. Refer to the printer’s manual or HP’s website for guidance on resolving these errors.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. Visit the HP website to download and install the most recent drivers for your model.
Set Printer as Default:
- On your computer, go to Printers & Scanners settings, find your printer, and ensure it’s set as the default printer.
Run Printer Troubleshooter:
- If you're using Windows, you can run the built-in printer troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Printer.
Check Print Queue:
- Make sure there are no stuck print jobs in the queue. You can clear the print queue from your computer's printer settings.
Printer Firmware Update:
- Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website and apply it if necessary.
Factory Reset:
- As a last resort, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
