I can not connect my hp smarttank 6001 to network. Blue wifi light is blinking and I have followed all of the troubleshooting steps here and online at hp. Nothing works. I can not get all of the lights blinking on the printer itself even though I have followed every step suggested; several of them different. Primarily it says to hold the X and i buttons at the same time; did nothing. other places it suggests other combinations, but none of them have worked.
It worked fine at my last location.

@mcloud040, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-One printer is showing a blinking blue Wi-Fi light, it means the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode but hasn't successfully connected to a network. Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, let's go through a structured reset and reconnection process to resolve this:
Restore Network Settings on the Printer
This will reset the Wi-Fi settings and put the printer back into setup mode.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button (📶) and the Cancel button (❌) on the printer together for 5 seconds.
- The Wi-Fi light should start blinking rapidly, indicating it's in setup mode.
Use HP Smart App to Reconnect
Make sure you're using the latest version of the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Tap “+” to add a new printer.
- The app should detect the printer in setup mode.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Ensure your phone or PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to join.
Check Router Compatibility
- The printer supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.
- Avoid using guest networks or networks with special characters in the SSID or password.
Print Network Configuration Page
To verify connection status:
- Press the Information (ℹ️) button once.
- A page will print showing the current network status and IP address.
