Hi @bricola,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out — I know how maddening it is when your HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer suddenly stops printing over Wi-Fi after a Windows 10 update. The fact that scanning still works proves the Wi-Fi link is partially active, but the printing side is misfiring — and I understand you’ve already tried reinstalling drivers, which makes it even more frustrating.

Let’s walk through and fix it properly this time.

1. Fully Uninstall HP Software

We need a truly clean slate:

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program
  2. Remove anything starting with:
    • HP ENVY 5530
    • HP Smart
    • HP Software or Solution Center

Then:

  • Press Windows + R, type printui /s /t2, and press Enter
    • Remove any instance of the 5530 from this print server window
  • Restart your PC

2. Download and Install the Correct Full Driver

Install this before plugging anything in or trying to print.

📝 During installation, choose Wireless connection, not USB.

3. Set the Printer as Default

After installation:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
  • Click the 5530 > Manage > Set as default

Also, make sure Let Windows manage my default printer is turned off.

4. Test Wireless Printing

Now, try to print from:

  • HP Smart
  • Word/Notepad
  • PDF viewer

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
