HP Smart Tank 585 All-in-One Printer

I've installed HP Smart application. After successful set up, the Printers list contains only the send-to-hp-roam option. I tried reinstalling the app, disabled Print Anywhere, but still, I have nothing else

Hi @SzMatefy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

That sounds frustrating, especially after setting up your HP Smart Tank 585 and not seeing it in the HP Smart app. Let’s work through some steps to help the app detect your printer properly.

  • Is the printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device running the HP Smart app?
  • Are you able to print or access the printer through other software on your device, like Windows/Mac printing preferences or other mobile apps?
  • Have you tried connecting the printer using both Wi-Fi and USB to see if either method works with the HP Smart app?

Meanwhile, let's try these steps.

Confirm Network Connection

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Network Settings or Wi-Fi Settings to verify it’s connected to the same network as your device.
  • Run a Network Configuration or Wireless Test Report from the printer menu to confirm it’s properly connected. If it’s not connected, try reconnecting it to the network.

Add the Printer Manually in HP Smart App

  • Open HP Smart, click on Add Printer, and let the app search for available devices.
  • If it doesn’t appear, select the Add Printer by IP address option. Enter the IP address (found in the Network Configuration report), which should help the app detect your printer directly.

Restart the Printer, Router, and Device

  • Power off your printer, router, and the device running HP Smart. Wait a minute, then power them back on, starting with the router, then the printer, and finally, your device. Reopen HP Smart and check if the printer now appears.

Clear the HP Smart App Cache or Reinstall Completely

  • On Windows, type wsreset in the search bar and run it to clear the Microsoft Store cache if you're using HP Smart from there.
  • On mobile devices, go to the app settings and clear cache or clear data for HP Smart. Then uninstall and reinstall the app to ensure a clean setup.

Disable Firewall or Security Software Temporarily

  • On your device, disable any firewall or security software temporarily, as it may be blocking the printer’s discovery. Then, reopen the HP Smart app and try adding the printer again. Be sure to re-enable security software afterward.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
