Bob: I checked the network settings and sure enough the laptop is on the 5Ghz band not 2.4Ghz. I guess the Router needs to be changed to 2.4Ghz, is that right? If so, what's the easiest way to do that? No doubt this may be the cause of all the problems. I also have a HP 4650 which is working ok but I imagine I'll have to reinstall that one also when I make the network change.
Thanks again

Bob: I just got off the phone with the Spectrum Tech rep, I have the newest, most advanced router. it automatically adjusts the band to the device. Both the 3050A and the 4650 are connected via 2.4Ghz, so there is no way for me to change that. We did discuss the "printer offline" issue and I tried several things he suggested, but it did not work. So the bottom line is: the 3050A is running and connected to the router via 2.4Ghz but Windows 10 won't recognize it. Should I try to get Microsoft to help, or is there something else from HP I can use? Any SW that I need to install from HP?
Thanks again

Bob, here's the latest update. Out of frustration, I finally connected the Printer via USB to my older Lenovo laptop which runs at 2.4Ghz. I used Print and Scan Doctor to get it set up and it prints fine. Then, I tested using it via wireless a minute ago and it worked fine. So, what I'll do is use my older laptop to print doc's to the 3050A and the new Lenovo can print via wireless to the 4650 that I have. Thanks again for all the help, much appreciated,

Bob I finally got the 3050A J611 working for now, at least. I'm stubborn as hell. Since I could longer set the Band speed on the Router I decided to see if I could do that on my laptop. Went to Device Manager>Network Adapter>Properties>Advanced and saw that I had an Intel Dual Band Wireless Adapter AC3165. Open it up and there was a list of Band speeds to select. I selected the 2.4Ghz I wanted, did a restart, then deleted all the old 3050A's appearing in Settings. Then did a search "Printers not listed', chose Local Printer, selected the right TCP/IP , installed the printer and it appeared in the list on Settings, then did a test print which worked fine. I had also created an email test print so I printed that just fine.. So for now I have both of my printers working on WiFi, and the 3050A J611 also available for USB printing as a backup.
I've sure learned a lot Bob, but it has been a bugger to deal with this. Thanks again for all the help.

I am glad you got things working. You will probably want to assign a fixed IP address to the printer to avoid issues in the future.

Seems to be working fine, Bob, even on my Chromebook. You mentioned you were going to look things up regarding making a change to IP address for the printer to a fixed IP. If you have found the information, please give me the instruction on how to do that.
Thanks again
