About installation of proper drivers and software of Laserjet Pro MFP 126nw printer.

Something has gone wrong when i try to connect my Laserjet Pro MFP 126nw printer on either on mobile phone or laptop it shows as HP-Print-38-LaserJet Pro MFP 2

Please guide me how to coorect the problem.

To resolve the issue with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 126nw printer, follow these steps to ensure you have the proper drivers and software installed, and to correctly connect your printer.

 

Download and Install the Latest Drivers

Visit HP’s Official Website:

  • Go to HP Support.

Find Your Printer Model:

  • Enter “LaserJet Pro MFP 126nw” in the search box and select your printer from the list.

Download the Drivers:

  • Go to the “Software and Drivers” section.
  • Choose your operating system if prompted, then download the latest drivers and software package for your printer.

Install the Software:

  • Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers and software.

Connect Your Printer

For Laptop:

Connect via USB:

  • Connect the printer to your laptop using a USB cable. The installation software should automatically detect the printer and complete the setup.

Connect via Network:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
  • Open the printer software you installed, and follow the network setup instructions to connect the printer to your network.

For Mobile Phone:

Install the HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from your mobile device's app store.

Connect to the Printer:

  • Open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to add your printer.
  • The app will guide you through connecting your mobile device to the printer via Wi-Fi.

Troubleshooting the Printer Name Issue

If the printer shows as “HP-Print-38-LaserJet Pro MFP 2”:

Check Printer’s Network Configuration:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to the network settings and print a network configuration page to check the IP address.

Update Printer’s Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date by checking the HP website for firmware updates.

Reconnect the Printer:

  • If necessary, remove the printer from your list of devices and set it up again using the correct name.

Reset the Printer:

  • As a last resort, you can reset the printer to factory settings and start the setup process again.


If you follow these steps, you should be able to properly install the drivers and connect your LaserJet Pro MFP 126nw printer to both your laptop and mobile phone.
