Hi @milam9708

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your laptop's hotspot isn't working and other devices can't connect, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Hotspot Settings

Open Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot.

Turn on Mobile Hotspot:

  • Make sure the mobile hotspot is turned on and that you have selected the correct network name and password.

2. Check Network Adapter

  1. Device Manager:
    • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Network Adapters:
    • Expand the Network adapters section and look for your wireless adapter. Ensure it is enabled (right-click and select Enable if needed).

3. Check for Windows Updates

Open Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Check for Updates:

  • Install any pending updates, which may include fixes for networking issues.

4. Restart Network Services

Open Command Prompt:

  • Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Enter.

Run Commands:

  • Type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:

Restart Your Laptop after running these commands.

5. Forget and Reconnect on Other Devices

  1. On the devices trying to connect, forget the hotspot network.
  2. Try reconnecting by entering the password again.

6. Check Firewall Settings

Open Windows Security:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Firewall & network protection.

Allow Hotspot:

  • Ensure that your mobile hotspot is allowed through the firewall.

7. Reset Network Settings

Open Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet.

Network Reset:

  • Scroll down and click on Network reset. This will reset all network adapters and settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
