Hi @milam9708
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your laptop's hotspot isn't working and other devices can't connect, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Hotspot Settings
Open Settings:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot.
Turn on Mobile Hotspot:
- Make sure the mobile hotspot is turned on and that you have selected the correct network name and password.
2. Check Network Adapter
- Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Network Adapters:
- Expand the Network adapters section and look for your wireless adapter. Ensure it is enabled (right-click and select Enable if needed).
3. Check for Windows Updates
Open Settings:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Check for Updates:
- Install any pending updates, which may include fixes for networking issues.
4. Restart Network Services
Open Command Prompt:
- Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Enter.
Run Commands:
- Type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
Restart Your Laptop after running these commands.
5. Forget and Reconnect on Other Devices
- On the devices trying to connect, forget the hotspot network.
- Try reconnecting by entering the password again.
6. Check Firewall Settings
Open Windows Security:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Firewall & network protection.
Allow Hotspot:
- Ensure that your mobile hotspot is allowed through the firewall.
7. Reset Network Settings
Open Settings:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
Network Reset:
- Scroll down and click on Network reset. This will reset all network adapters and settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
