Hi @wbradyb1052,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've lost the wireless connection to your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e printer on Windows 11, here are some steps you can follow to restore the connection:

1. Restart the Printer and Router

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your WiFi router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds, then plugging it back in.
  • After 1-2 minutes, turn the printer back on.

2. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  • On your printer’s control panel, go to Settings → Network Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

3. Re-add the Printer on Windows 11

  • Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
  • Click Add a printer or scanner and let Windows search for the printer.
  • If found, select the printer to add it.

4. Restart the Print Spooler Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down to find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

5. Update the Printer Driver

  • Open HP Smart or go to the HP Support website, download and install the latest driver for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e printer.
  • You can also update drivers via Device Manager:
    • Right-click Start → Device Manager → Printers.
    • Right-click your printer and choose Update driver.

6. Reset Network Settings on the Printer (if needed)

If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, you can reset the network settings on your printer:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings → Network Settings → Restore Network Defaults.

After the reset, repeat the wireless setup wizard to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
