HP Smart member using Instant Ink. I do not print very much but it seems that every time I want to print, I must restart my PC, restart my router and restart (unplug) my printer in order to get an active connection. It often takes more than an hour to re-establish my connectivity so I can print one or two pages.

Hi @GrumpyFlash,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with connectivity issues every time you want to print. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem with your HP DeskJet 4155e.
Check Network Settings:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that it’s the same network as your PC. Sometimes, printers might connect to a different network band (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz), which can cause connectivity issues.
Update Firmware:
- Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or on the HP website.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your PC. You can download them from the HP support website.
Check Router Settings:
- Restart your router and check if there are any settings or updates that might be affecting your printer’s connection. Ensure that there are no restrictions or settings that might be causing issues.
Wi-Fi Signal Strength:
- Ensure that your printer is within range of your router. Weak Wi-Fi signals can cause intermittent connectivity issues.
Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer, navigate to the network settings and perform a network reset. Then, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
HP Smart App Troubleshooting:
- Use the HP Smart app to diagnose and troubleshoot connectivity issues. The app can guide you through various steps to resolve network problems.
Disable Power Saving Features:
- Sometimes, power-saving settings on the router or printer can cause connectivity issues. Check if there are any such settings enabled and try disabling them.
Check for Interference:
- Other devices or networks might be causing interference with your printer’s Wi-Fi signal. Try minimizing potential sources of interference.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Those steps that you outlined are what I must go through every time I want to print. I used to be able to simply click on the print icon and my document would start printing on my printer. Now its an ordeal to get a simple, single page printed.
