Hello, My HP mobile 250 All in one will not shut down and is just spinning. The cartridges are all to one side so cannot be removed. I have tried truning off and unplugging cable from printer and wall. Holding down the on/off switch 30 seconds etc. Nothing is working.

Hi @Jeanette39,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Printer is stuck in a frozen state. Here's a detailed guide to troubleshoot this issue.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- While unplugged, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the printer to a direct wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or extension cords).
- Try turning the printer back on.
Check for Blockages or Jams:
- With the printer off, inspect the cartridge area and paper feed path for any visible obstructions.
- Use a flashlight if necessary. Do not force the cartridge mechanism.
Reset the Printer Firmware:
- If the printer powers on but remains stuck, it might require a firmware update or reset:
- HP Smart App Reset: Open the HP Smart app on a connected device and check if the printer is detected. If it is, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance and perform a reset.
- If the app cannot detect the printer, continue with the next steps.
Factory Reset (if accessible):
- If the printer becomes responsive:
- Go to the Settings menu on the printer control panel.
- Select Printer Maintenance or Tools.
- Choose Restore Factory Defaults and confirm.
Force Cartridge Access:
- If the cartridge mechanism is stuck on one side:
- Gently unplug the printer, leaving the power cable disconnected.
- Open the cartridge access door and manually attempt to slide the cartridge carriage to the center. Use minimal force to avoid damaging internal components.
- Plug the printer back in and try turning it on.

Check for Firmware or Hardware Issues:
- Update Firmware: If the printer powers on after resetting, connect it to your computer or the HP Smart app to check for firmware updates.
- Test Functionality: Try performing a basic print or scan to confirm the printer is responsive.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
