Hi @Jodi1945,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer might be having connectivity issues with your iPad. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this problem.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, iPad, and router. Wait for about 30 seconds and then turn them back on.
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that both your iPad and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Forget and Reconnect Wi-Fi on iPad:
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iPad, tap on your Wi-Fi network, and choose "Forget This Network." Then reconnect to the network.
Update Firmware and Software:
- Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the printer's settings or the HP support website for updates.
- Ensure your iPad’s iOS is up to date.
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- Go to the printer’s settings menu and look for an option to reset network settings. This will clear any old network configurations and let you set up the Wi-Fi connection again.
Re-add Printer on iPad:
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iPad and tap on "AirPrint." If the printer doesn’t show up, try re-adding it by following these steps:
- Open the document you want to print.
- Tap the share button (usually a box with an arrow pointing out of it).
- Select "Print."
- Tap "Select Printer" and choose your printer from the list.
Check Printer’s IP Address:
- Print a network configuration page from your printer. Check the IP address and ensure it’s correctly assigned within your network’s range.
Firewall Settings:
- Ensure that your router’s firewall is not blocking the printer. You might need to log into your router settings to check this.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, you might need to consider resetting your printer to factory settings and setting it up again from scratch.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
