My printer (HP desk jet 1422) is off line. It turns on but the wifi light only blinks. I don't understand the terms and names that they use in the "help" directions. I would like to talk to someone.

Hi @KathyB4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
No worries, I can help you with that! Let's try some basic troubleshooting steps to get your HP Deskjet 4122 back online.
- Check Connection: Ensure that your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router and that the Wi-Fi signal is strong.
- Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset the connection and resolve the issue.
- Restart Router: Turn off your Wi-Fi router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can help refresh the network connection.
- Check Wi-Fi Settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings. Ensure that the Wi-Fi is enabled and that it's connected to the correct network.
- Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi: If your printer's Wi-Fi light is blinking, it means it's trying to connect to the network. You might need to reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings. Usually, there's a setup wizard or Wi-Fi setup option on the printer's control panel. Follow the prompts to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Printer Software: Make sure that the printer drivers and software are properly installed on your computer. Sometimes updating or reinstalling the printer software can resolve connectivity issues.
- Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus settings can interfere with the printer's connection. Temporarily disable them and see if the printer reconnects.
- Reset Printer: As a last resort, you can try resetting your printer to its factory defaults. This will erase all the settings, so you'll need to set it up again from scratch. There should be an option for resetting in the printer's settings menu.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
