Hi @cassady75,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 2700 printer is showing as offline and you're unable to get it back online, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and your computer. If it's a network printer, ensure that it's connected to the network and that your computer is also connected to the same network.
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
- Restart Computer: Sometimes, the issue might be with your computer's connection to the printer. Restarting your computer can help refresh the connection.
- Check Printer Status: Open the Control Panel or Settings on your computer, then navigate to Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners). Check if the printer is listed there. If it's not, there may be a connection issue.
- Set Printer Online: Right-click on the printer icon and select "See what's printing" or "Printer properties." In the printer queue window, click on the "Printer" menu and ensure that the "Use Printer Offline" option is unchecked. If it's checked, click on it to uncheck it and set the printer back online.
- Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your HP 2700 printer.
- Check for Paper Jams or Error Messages: Sometimes, a paper jam or an error message on the printer can cause it to go offline. Check the printer's display panel for any error messages and clear any paper jams if present.
- Reset Printer: As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
