my hp desk jet 2636 is very old i just connected it to power again and tried to use the smart hp app to connect it to my phone and it won’t show up when it’s searching for printers or on my wifi networks.

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I'd like to know the following to isolate the issue further-

 

  • Are the printer and iOS devices connected to the same network?
  • Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual-band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.
  • What is the distance between the router and the printer?
