Hi @rdj117
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating it must be to have your HP Smart Tank Plus 651 refuse to connect to your 2G Google Fiber Wi-Fi network, even with the correct password.
Let's go through some troubleshooting steps.
1. Restart Everything
- Power off your printer, router, and computer.
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn on the router first.
- Once the router is fully online, turn on the printer and computer.
2. Reset Network Settings on the Printer
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup → Network Settings.
- Select Restore Network Defaults.
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
3. Check Router Settings
- Ensure your Google Fiber router is set to 2.4GHz (some HP printers struggle with 5GHz).
- Disable MAC address filtering (if enabled).
- Try switching the Wi-Fi security mode to WPA2 instead of WPA3.
4. Manually Assign an IP Address
- Open HP Smart → Printers & Scanners → Advanced Settings.
- Assign a static IP address to the printer.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Install the latest firmware update from HP’s official page.
Let me know if any of these steps help! I appreciate your patience while we work through this.
