@msa2012, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're having trouble reconnecting your HP DeskJet 2723e printer after changing your Wi-Fi network. No worries, I'll guide you through the steps to get your printer back online.
When your Wi-Fi network changes (new router, new password, etc.), your printer needs to be reconnected to the new network. Since it's not connecting via the app, we’ll try a few alternate methods.
Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)
Reset Wi-Fi on the Printer:
- Make sure the printer is powered on.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons on the printer together for 5 seconds until the Power light blinks. This puts the printer in Wi-Fi setup mode.
Install or Open the HP Smart App:
- Download from HP Smart for Windows/macOS or HP Smart for Android/iOS. HP Smart
- Open the app and sign in or create an HP account.
Add Your Printer:
- Click “+” to add a new printer.
- The app should detect your printer in setup mode.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your new Wi-Fi.
Option 2: Use HP Printer Software (Windows)
If the app doesn’t work, try using the full driver/software:
- Download from: HP Support page - Official HP® Support
- Run the installer and choose “Wireless Setup” when prompted.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure your Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz (this printer does not support 5 GHz).
- Temporarily disable VPNs or firewalls if the app can’t detect the printer.
- Make sure your phone or PC is on the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to connect to.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
