Hi @Cynthia881,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is connected to the internet but is displaying a blinking information light and showing "Printer Busy" when you try to print, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
**1. Check Printer Status
- Information Light: Consult your printer’s manual to understand what the blinking information light indicates. Different patterns can signify different issues.
- Display Panel: If your printer has a display panel, check for any error messages or status updates that might provide more information.
**2. Restart the Printer and Devices
- Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Restart Computer and Router:
- Restart your computer and router to ensure there are no connectivity issues.
**3. Clear Print Queue
- On Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
- Cancel any documents in the queue by selecting Cancel All Documents.
- On macOS:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
- Cancel any pending print jobs.
**4. Check Printer Connections
- Verify Network Connection:
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to your network. You can check the printer’s network settings from its control panel or through the printer’s web interface.
- Wi-Fi Signal Strength:
- Ensure that the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network and that the signal strength is strong.
**5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Download Latest Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
- Download and install the latest drivers and software for your printer.
- Reinstall Printer:
- Remove and reinstall the printer on your computer to refresh the connection.
**6. Check for Firmware Updates
- Update Firmware:
- Go to the HP Support website and check for firmware updates for your printer model.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware if an update is available.
**7. Run Printer Diagnostics
- Built-In Diagnostics:
- Many printers have built-in diagnostic tools accessible from the control panel. Run any available diagnostics to check for issues.
**8. Perform a Printer Reset
- Factory Reset:
- If other steps don’t resolve the issue, consider performing a factory reset on the printer. Check the user manual for instructions on how to do this.
**9. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Inspect the Printer:
- Open all accessible areas of the printer to check for paper jams or obstructions. Clear any paper or debris you find.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
