Hi @dirk851,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your wireless printer is showing offline and not being found. Let’s go through some steps to bring it back online.

1. Check Wi-Fi & Power

Make sure the printer is powered on and has no error lights or paper jams.

On the printer’s control panel, confirm it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer/phone.

If the Wi-Fi light is off or blinking, the printer isn’t connected.

2. Restart Devices

Restart your printer, router, and computer/phone.

Wait 1–2 minutes for the printer to reconnect to Wi-Fi.

3. Verify Network Connection

On the printer’s control panel, print a Network Configuration Report (usually under Setup → Reports → Network Configuration).

Check if the printer has a valid IP address (e.g. 192.168.x.x).

If no IP is listed, reconnect to Wi-Fi using Setup → Network Setup → Wireless Setup Wizard.

4. Add Printer Again

On your computer:

Windows → Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners → Add Device.

Mac → System Settings → Printers & Scanners → + (Add Printer).

On your phone/tablet → open the HP Smart app → Add Printer → follow setup.

5. Prevent Offline Mode in Windows

In Windows, open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.

Right-click your HP printer → See what’s printing.

Make sure “Use Printer Offline” is unchecked.

6. Update Printer Software

Make sure you have the latest HP Smart app / HP drivers installed from HP’s support site.

Outdated drivers can cause the printer not to be found.

If the printer still won’t connect:

Re-run the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer.

If your router has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, connect the printer to 2.4 GHz (most stable for printers).

I hope this helps.
