Hi @143784

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reset the password for your HP DeskJet 2700 series printer, you’ll typically need to reset the wireless settings. Here’s how to do it:

Resetting Wireless Settings

Power On the Printer:

  • Make sure your printer is turned on and ready.

Access the Control Panel:

  • On the printer’s control panel, look for the Wireless button (often represented by an icon that looks like a wireless signal).

Restore Network Settings:

  • Press and hold the Wireless button for about 5 seconds until the light next to it starts blinking.
  • Then, press and hold the Cancel button (usually a red X) for another 5 seconds. This action will reset the wireless settings to factory defaults, which includes any saved Wi-Fi network and password information.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • After resetting, you will need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. You can do this by using the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer's control panel:
    • Navigate to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to select your network and enter the password.

Using the HP Smart App

Open the HP Smart App:

  • If you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or smartphone, open it.

Add the Printer:

  • If the printer is not showing, try adding it again by selecting the + icon and following the prompts to reconnect it to your network.

Reset Password:

  • If your printer is connected, you can also manage settings, including the network password, directly through the app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
