Built in network capabilities have been disabled, I have tried factory reset and many other things and I can not get the printer to connect wirelessly.
I now have a hardwire connection (USB), as it is the only way I can now use this printer.

Hi @Peter1465,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've encountered some issues with the wireless functionality of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer. Since you've already attempted a factory reset and other troubleshooting steps without success, here are some additional steps you can try.
- Check Network Settings: Ensure that the wireless network settings on the printer are configured correctly. You may need to access the printer's control panel or web interface to verify the network settings.
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve connectivity issues.
- Restart Router and Printer: Turn off your printer and router, then turn them back on after a few minutes. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues by refreshing the network connection.
- Reset Network Settings: Try resetting the network settings on your printer again. This may involve navigating through the printer's menu to find the network settings reset option.
- Check for Interference: Ensure that there are no sources of interference near the printer that could disrupt the wireless signal, such as other electronic devices or physical obstacles.
Since you've already resorted to using a wired USB connection, you can continue using the printer in this manner if it meets your needs. However, if wireless functionality is essential to you, it's worth exploring these troubleshooting steps further to see if you can restore it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello and Thank you for getting back to me Alden4,
I am unable to check network connections because when I select Setup on the window of the printer 8600 and then select 'network', I get 'built in network capab. have been disabled. Contact your admin" - LOL what admin. This is my printer.
The router/modem and the printer are reset nightly as I do not leave my electronics on 24/7. They are off all night from 11am to 6:30am as they are all on timers to conserve on electricity therefore everything resets itself when the timers go back on.
Since I can not get on the network, I even tried an ethernet cable and I noticed that when I insert the cable the green and gold light and the router light do not go on which means the printer is network is completely shut off. Therefore, I can not not update my firmware either via ethernet or wifi.
I have no interference.
When I remove the printer from my laptop I have a lot of difficulty getting it to re-add via the USB port. It does not auto find it.
This is so very strange and it appears the printer is completely shut off from network and wifi.
SP Smart app has troubles with it too via the USB.
I do not believe any of this is my network or router, etc.
It appears the printer has shut down the network capabilities all together. So I am unable to update anything on the printer. The menu on the printer does not allow me to change anything on it regarding 'network'.
Any thoughts!
Peter
