Hi @Joe12flo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the network connection issues with your HP OfficeJet 8015e printer.
Update Printer Firmware
Ensure your printer firmware is up to date:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware if available.
Reset Network Settings
Try resetting the printer’s network settings:
- On the printer, go to the Settings menu.
- Select Network or Wireless.
- Choose Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
Check Router Settings
- 5GHz vs. 2.4GHz: Make sure your printer is connected to the 2.4GHz band, as many printers do not support 5GHz networks. You can usually find this setting in your router's configuration page.
- DHCP Settings: Ensure DHCP is enabled on your router to assign IP addresses automatically.
- MAC Address Filtering: If you have MAC address filtering enabled, add your printer’s MAC address to the allowed list.
Reboot Devices
- Restart your router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
- Restart your printer.
Check for Interference
- Ensure the printer is within range of the router and not obstructed by walls or electronic devices that could cause interference.
Assign a Static IP Address
Assigning a static IP to your printer can help maintain a stable connection:
- Access your router’s settings.
- Find the section for LAN or DHCP reservation.
- Assign a static IP address to your printer based on its MAC address.
Windows 11 Network Troubleshooter
Run the Windows network troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Click on Network troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

Reinstall Printer Driver
Sometimes reinstalling the printer driver can help resolve connection issues:
- Go to Devices and Printers in Windows.
- Right-click on your printer and select Remove device.
- Reinstall the printer using the HP Smart app or download the driver from the HP website.
Disable IPv6
Disabling IPv6 in your network settings can sometimes resolve connectivity issues:
- Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections.
- Right-click on your Wi-Fi connection and select Properties.
- Uncheck the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) option and click OK.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
