Netgear issued us a new IP and the HP will not accept or recognize it yet the Cannon ET-3850 5 feet away had no issues. I've tried everything the virtual assist has suggested except turn off the router because frankly I am terrified to do so because of all the other connectivity issues with this change.

@SDGal, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Print Network Report
On the printer screen:
Go to Settings > Wireless or Network Settings
Choose Print Network Configuration Page
Check:
Does it show an IP address?
If it starts with 169.254, it’s not connected.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi
On printer:
Go to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
Select your Wi-Fi name
Enter Wi-Fi password
This makes the printer get a fresh IP from the router.
Restart Printer
Turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on.
Re-add Printer to Computer
On your PC or Mac:
Remove the old printer
Add it again. (search for it or use the new IP from the config page)
Set Static IP
If it still doesn’t work:
Log in to your router (e.g., 192.168.1.1)
Reserve a fixed IP for your printer under Attached Devices / DHCP
Or manually assign IP in printer settings
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
