I just bought a new MacBook Air laptop. I have it connected to my WiFi and have good internet service. I have an HP OfficeJet 3830 printer. When I click on "Find Printer" on my laptop, I can hear the audible tone from the printer. When I tried to print a test page, it worked fine. But if I try to print attachments from my **bleep**, they go into the printer queue and it says "waiting " under each one. I am unable to get the printer to print what I send it. I installed HP Smart on my laptop.

Hi @berryhill21,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you are experiencing an issue with printing attachments from your email on your MacBook Air connected to an HP Officejet 3830 printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your HP Officejet 3830 is selected as the default printer on your MacBook Air. You can do this by going to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" and selecting your HP printer from the list.
- Restart Devices: Try restarting both your MacBook Air and the HP Officejet 3830. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
- Check Printer Status: Open the HP Smart app on your laptop and check if the printer status is online. If it's offline, try to bring it back online.
- Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your MacBook Air. You can visit the HP official website to download and install the latest drivers for your Officejet 3830 model.
- Check Email Attachment Format: Ensure that the attachments you're trying to print are in a compatible format and that the file sizes are not too large. Some printers may have trouble processing large files.
- Clear Printer Queue: Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," select your printer, and then click on the "Open Print Queue" button. Clear any pending print jobs in the queue.
- Check Email Client Settings: Verify the settings in your email client to make sure it is configured to print attachments correctly. Ensure that there are no restrictions preventing the attachments from being printed.
- Reinstall HP Smart: If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app on your MacBook Air.
If none of these steps resolve the problem, there may be a specific issue related to your email or attachment type.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
