Hi @whiteprinter826

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating that must be! Let’s troubleshoot the connection issue between your printer and the new router. Here are steps to help you get it working with the HP Smart app:

1. Check Printer and Router Connections:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the new router. You might need to connect the printer manually.

2. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • On the printer, go to the settings menu and select Network Setup or Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password. This will reconnect the printer to the new router.

3. Use the HP Smart App to Add Printer:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your device.
  • Tap on Add Printer or the plus icon to search for printers.
  • If it doesn’t find your printer, try refreshing the app or restarting it.

4. Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check this in the HP Smart app or directly on the printer’s settings menu.

5. Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, laptop, and router to refresh the connections.

6. Use USB Connection Temporarily:

  • If you're still having trouble, consider connecting the printer to your laptop via USB temporarily. This may allow you to configure the printer and update settings.

7. Install HP Smart Without Disk:

  • You can download the HP Smart app directly from the Microsoft Store or HP's website.
  • Follow the instructions in the app to set up your printer.

8. Check Firewall/Antivirus:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software that may be blocking the connection between the printer and the app.

9. Manual IP Address Setup:

  • If the printer has an IP address (which you can find in the network settings), try adding it manually in the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
