Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

A new fast wireless internet has been implemented in the building where our office is, so I need to reconfigurate my printer to this network. My printer MAC-no. has been identified and connected by the installing company of the new wifi. However, when I look for the new network on the printers display, it does not appear. What can be the reason for that? It should be said that other networks appear on a list, but not thee new one. I have Mac OS 15.5 and my printer is a HP PagewidePro 452dw

Hello @beatew ,

If your HP PageWide Pro 452dw printer is not displaying the new wireless network while others are visible, several factors could be responsible. Here are some common explanations and troubleshooting steps you can take:

  1. Distance and Obstruction: Ensure that the printer is within range of the WiFi router and that there are no physical obstructions or interference, such as thick walls or electronic equipment, that could be affecting the signal.

  2. Network Visibility: It's possible that the new network is set up as a hidden SSID. Since hidden networks are not broadcasted, they do not appear in the list of available Wi-Fi networks. You would need to manually enter the network name (SSID) into the printer settings.

  3. WiFi Configuration: Double-check the network configuration settings. Make sure the printer is configured to connect to networks of the same type (e.g., 2.4 GHz versus 5 GHz). Not all printers support 5 GHz networks, so if your new network is on 5 GHz, this might be why it doesn't appear.

  4. Network Security: Ensure the network security settings on the router are compatible with the printer. The printer must support the encryption type used by the network.

  5. Network Traffic and Channel Settings: High traffic on the router or specific channel congestion can affect connectivity. Try rebooting the router to see if this clears any potential issues.

  6. Printer Settings Reset: Performing a network settings reset on the printer could resolve any existing network configuration issues and allow it to detect the available networks afresh.

  7. Firmware Update: It's worth checking if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. HP frequently updates printer firmware to enhance performance and connectivity features, including WiFi.

After verifying these factors, try reconnecting to the Wi-Fi. If you still experience issues, consider referring to the printer's user guide or contacting HP support for additional assistance.
