Hi @maryenglish ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to resolve the "no wireless connection" issue with your HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer, you can follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check the Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • On the printer's control panel, find the Wireless or Wi-Fi icon. If it's not lit up, the printer might not be connected to Wi-Fi.

2. Reboot the Devices

  • Restart your router: Unplug the router for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Restart your printer: Turn the printer off, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on.

3. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  • Press the Wireless or Wi-Fi button on the printer and hold it down for about 5 seconds. This will initiate the Wi-Fi setup mode.
  • Use the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device, or follow the printer's on-screen instructions to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

4. Run the HP Network Diagnostics

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Use the app's Printer Setup & Software option to run the Network Diagnostics tool. This can help identify and fix any connection issues.

5. Check the Printer's IP Address

  • If the printer is still not connecting, print a Network Configuration Page:
    • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Print Network Configuration Page.
    • Check if the printer has an IP address assigned. If there’s no IP address, the printer isn’t connected to the network.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer has the latest firmware. If you're able to connect it to your computer via USB, use the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start to check for any firmware updates.

7. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  • If none of the above works, you can reset the printer’s network settings:
    • Go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
  • After the reset, reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network.

8. Check Firewall or Router Settings

  • Ensure that your router's firewall is not blocking the printer from connecting. Some routers may have specific security settings or settings like MAC address filtering that might prevent the printer from connecting.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
