Hi @Stone3901,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the wireless icon is missing from your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 printer's control panel, it could be due to a software glitch, firmware issue, or a configuration setting. Here's what you can try to restore it.

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 1-2 minutes before plugging it back in and powering it on.
  • Check if the wireless icon reappears.

Restore Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
  • Confirm the reset. This will erase any previous wireless configurations and restore the wireless functionality.

Check the Control Panel Settings

  • Navigate to Settings or Setup on the control panel.
  • Ensure the Wireless feature is enabled. Sometimes it can be turned off inadvertently.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Download the latest firmware for your printer from HP's support website.
  • Install the update using a USB cable or through the HP Smart app if the printer can still connect via Ethernet or USB.

Use HP Smart App

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Connect the printer via USB and use the app to enable wireless settings.

Factory Reset the Printer

If all else fails:

  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Reconfigure the wireless network settings after the reset.

Verify Network Infrastructure

  • Ensure your router is functional and broadcasting the correct network.
  • Make sure the printer is within range of your WiFi signal.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
