@ELSAN7, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
We see that your HP Laser MFP 138fnw printer not connecting to Wi-Fi on a Windows 11 system, Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue:
Check Printer Compatibility and Network
- Ensure your printer supports Wi-Fi Direct or Wireless Network Setup.
- Make sure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz (this model does not support 5 GHz).
- Place the printer close to the router to avoid signal issues.
Use HP Smart App (Recommended Method)
The HP Smart app simplifies wireless setup.
Steps:
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
- Open the app and sign in or create an HP account.
- Click “Set up a new printer”.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
If the printer is not detected, reset the network settings:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons for 5 seconds until the wireless light blinks.
Manual Wireless Setup via Embedded Web Server (EWS)
If HP Smart doesn’t work, try this:
Connect your PC to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct network:
- Look for a network like DIRECT-xx-HP Laser MFP 138nw.
- Password is usually printed on the printer label or in the manual.
Open a browser and go to: http://192.168.223.1
Go to Network > Wireless Setup Wizard and select your Wi-Fi network.
Enter your Wi-Fi password and apply the settings.
Install Full Feature Software (Optional)
You can also install the full driver package from HP: HP Laser MFP 138fnw Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Restart Devices
After setup:
- Restart your printer, router, and PC.
- Ensure the printer shows a solid wireless light (not blinking).
