Hi @57dan,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP OfficeJet 4650 won’t connect to Wi-Fi, even though nothing changed, and repeated prompts from HP haven’t helped. Let’s go through some detailed steps to troubleshoot and fix this.
1. Restart Printer and Network Devices
Power off the printer, unplug it for 30 seconds, then power it back on.
Restart your Wi-Fi router and any network extenders.
After rebooting, try connecting again.
2. Check Wi-Fi Network & Password
Ensure the printer is trying to connect to the correct Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz is recommended for this model).
Verify the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
Avoid networks with special characters or hidden SSIDs temporarily to simplify connection.
3. Reset Network Settings on Printer
On the printer, go to Setup → Network Setup → Restore Network Settings.
This clears old network info and allows a fresh connection.
4. Use HP Smart App for Setup
Install or open the HP Smart app on yourcomputer or phone.
Select Add Printer → Wireless Setup.
Follow prompts to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.
5. Disable Interfering Settings
Ensure MAC filtering or parental controls on your router aren’t blocking the printer.
Temporarily disable any VPN, firewall, or security software on your computer that could interfere with printer setup.
6. Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can prevent Wi-Fi connectivity.
Go to HP Support → Software & Drivers → OfficeJet 4650 → Firmware and install the latest version.
After updating, restart the printer and try connecting again.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for all the suggestions, went through the list. Nothing worked. I think I need to replace. No official help from HP is very disappointing. IT is 2025 why are we still dealing with things as if we are using DOSS.
